| 1339643 | 2013-05-04 07:22:00 | A story on CNN? yesterday had a spokesman heavily implying that ALL digital communications are not only intercepted but are being recorded also . This statement has severe ramifications and connotations for all of us . Does it mean that the Police, FBI, CIA or whoever posses the ability to resolve all crimes, and if so, then why aren't they doing it? Is that what Waihopai's role is here in New Zealand? |

| 1339648 | 2013-05-04 08:53:00 | Eh, they can record all they want. It's like when I was in china, I wondered how much of my traffic they snooped on. In reality not much. It all passes through and a little algorithm checks it for for flagged material/keywords etc, if it matches it will be marked and possibly reviewed, if not the data is probably cached somewhere and never even looked at again. No one individually inspects the content and my estimate is over 99% of traffic is simply ignored, stored and deleted after 18 months. Chances are your surfing won't even be noticed in the grand scheme of things. |
