Xtra/yahoo webmail is being upgraded.
What will happen to those using POP3 to get their xtra/yahoo mail, who never use webmail so wont be signing to
to new compulsory new terms & conditions ??

this is interesting, from the website..
If you don’t want to use the new Yahoo! Mail, you may consider these other options:
Download your Yahoo! Mail using IMAP: ......blah blah
Transfer using a service like TrueSwitch:
Close your account: ....

Any bets on another embarrasment for Telecom??
I'd guess users Yahoo spamfilter settings will get reset ? resulting missing emails etc etc

I really dont want to sign up to their new terms of service . Could be a good excuse to finally move .
"When you upgrade, you will be accepting our Communications Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This includes the acceptance of automated content scanning and analyzing of your communications content, which Yahoo! uses to deliver product features, relevant advertising, and abuse protection."

If you want to stay with Telecom as your ISP, set up a Gmail account and then log into Yahoo and set up a forwarding rule to the Gmail account. Then you'll never have to log into the dog's breakfast that is Yahoo ever again.

I would be very surprised if POP3 was dropped.
That is the only way most of their customers get their email.
It would cripple their helpdesk and make for some (further) pretty negative media coverage.
