| 1339367 | 2013-05-02 01:33:00 | The day after a computer upgrade was announced. Oh the irony :lol: mobile.nzherald.co.nz | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1339368 | 2013-05-02 04:14:00 | What are the chances that this Govt dept will have a successful Comp system upgrade, with no huge cost over-runs & no write off of a new system that cant be made to work. "$1.5 billion upgrade.... " Does this seem a excessive amount $$$ for some servers & a bunch of PC's ?? Id like to see the actual costing on this. Someone will be making a nice wee profit. |

| 1339370 | 2013-05-02 04:38:00 | $1.5bil would hire some damn good programers. OK maybe just 1/2 billion to hire programers . I bet it'll amount to 1/2bil for the software side of things (eventually) :-) |

It's replacing their current mainframe system with something a little more modern. Not the desktops which were updated a year or so ago. The mainframe uses COBOL, so that might give an indication of the age of it :) |
