Doesn't matter it's the Dynalink vs Genius, they both default to an IP on the same range, which is what our issue is here compared to the IP of your DD-WRT router. The WAN on your DD-WRT must be DHCP The LAN on your DD-WRT, set this to 192.168.123.1, subnet of 255.255.255.0, leave the gateway blank, set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Just in case, for now, may as well). Then don't forget to go in and check your DHCP settings on the DD-WRT router, make sure it's giving out IP's in the 192.168.123.100-200 sorta range (100 IP's via DHCP should be ample for now, for simplicities sake). Then once you've done that, you'll likely need to restart your PC to get the new IP. You *can* do it without rebooting, but I won't bore you with details, rebooting your PC is easiest. Good luck! haha! You my friend are a genius! Thanks very much I actually did the change last night (from 0 to 123) but I missed the step of restarting. Tonight I turned it on and internet is flowing through the airwaves again! Now to find out how to establish data usage... Thanks again for all the help. This solution maintains the 100% success rate of helpful advice on this forum for the problems I have sought help with :) |
