So why the hell haven't we hired those guys to rebuild Christchurch for a $30 a day?

We would have had a brand new city or two at 1/20th the price last year. Instead we're paying incompetent ******s $3-4000 a week to do nothing.

A good question, the bridge at Heathcote is a case in point, 2 years and they are still buggering about.

Fat guts should be shot.

1339558 2013-05-04 03:35:00 Question: How do they get the crane off the top?Perhaps it becomes a liftshaft? Pato (2463)
1339559 2013-05-04 03:50:00 My sons first comment was how do they get the crane off?

1339561 2013-05-04 04:28:00 I was searching for a TV special showing how the Auckland Skytower crane was dismantled. In the event I couldn't find it.

Instead I came across this video of hundreds of despondent would-be jumpers denied tickets and showing their disappointment and frustration at not being allowed to jump ...

Nothing to do with ancient Celts or Chinese immigration, but what the?

1339564 2013-05-04 07:16:00 The fact the author is a Navy Captain ( Rank) is good enough for me,

He retired or was "retired" the year after his submarine rammed a USN minesweeper moored at a pier. I think the years in confined spaces have caught up with him.
