WTF?
How did they think this was a good idea? (if it is for real, of course)

1360904 2013-11-26 09:21:00 Looks like its real.

One other article LG originally responded by saying:
The advice we have been given is that unfortunately as you accepted the Terms and Conditions on your TV, your concerns would be best directed to the retailer

Bet the retailers dont know either. Like to see someone take a TV back saying they DONT agree with the T&C then get a refund :) Old story, hardly anyone reads any T&C, so they could be agreeing to anything.

Saying you didn't read them even though you say you agree doesn't stand up in court ;)

1360905 2013-11-26 09:26:00 Actually, "unreadable"/onerous T&C's have been ruled unenforcable in court. fred_fish (15241)
1360906 2013-11-26 09:33:00 Also just found :
LG didn't appear to be actually receiving those file names — at least not at that moment. The URL to which the file names were being posted returned a 404 "Not Found" error, indicating that the URL did not exist, even if the receiving server did.

Re the T&C -- Depends if they are all gobble de gook or plain English.

Ask the idiot who I had to take to court, he was laughed out Basically,( BY THE ADJUDICATOR ) when his excuse was " I just signed them, didn't bother reading anything" ;)

1360907 2013-11-26 09:49:00 Yeah, that's as it should be.
The ones that are sixty pages of legalese that you have to click the button next to the "I agree" tickbox to even see, have been chucked out in a number of (sensible) jurisdictions when they tried to enforce them.

1360908 2013-11-26 09:53:00 Also, a lot of laws and regulations cannot be contracted out of by agreeing to T&C's (or any other legal agreement for that matter). fred_fish (15241)

Because they're a multinational corporation who likes to think that they can get away with doing whatever the f**k they want.

As a side note, smart TVs suck.

1360910 2013-11-29 20:29:00 I always thought the LGs were cool with the built in Plex App, however after yesterdays fail at connectivity with ATVs, I have had to re-access my view.

This phoning home makes it even worse!
