| 1360379 | 2013-11-20 21:47:00 | Has the RAM to be matched with the Qualified Vendors List (QVL) of the Motherboard? Is that critical and has to be followed strictly? |

Most cases where incompatibilities are found are pc's built by manufacturers (ie HP) which will only accept specific models of ram. | icow (15313)

The RAM manufacturers also sometimes have lists on their websites which may include many that the motherboard makers haven't tested. Mainly it's the type and speed that is important. | dugimodo (138)
