2013-04-29 03:22:00 | In December i bought a lawnmower from mega mitre 10 . i got intructions from the salesperson who sold it to me, on reccomendations its a really strong, good machine . . . . . . . . . . . . . and on oil to put in, and got the oil specified . now less than 6 months later its died . its motor seems to have died . . . . . . . . . . . . . seized most likely . . . . . . . do i have come back on this? i did all the things they said . oil, petrol wise . all ive done is mow my lawns with it . is this usual for a almost new mower to die? was i supposed to do something else? ive learnt that me, machines, electricity and anything that needs knowledge do not mix . . . . . . . . . is this sort of thing covered or is it user killed it, its their problem? beetle

2013-04-29 03:47:00 | Yep, what Gary and Speedy said, we got one from Mega (the one where Gary works actually - but before he got there :) ) about 5 yrs ago and it does our lawns every few weeks (apart from in the winter) - and whacks the top a bit lower on the tree stumps when I run over them lol. Its never missed a beat - don't think I've even put any oil in it yet. You should get a lot more use out of it than you have. Good luck. | Iantech (16386) | |

Make sure you know about what date you bought it as it will help them trace the purchase quickly. Most of these transactions are kept on a database. Did you pay by credit card? If so go back through your records too and give a copy to M10. | Bryan (147) | ||
2013-04-29 04:10:00 | If you cannot find the receipt for it, it should not really matter as they should have the transaction on file on there computer. I would say the mower is under warranty but if not you are still covered by the Consumers Guarantees Act. :)

2013-04-29 04:23:00 | If it won't turn then yeah, probably seized. Either that or something has bent itself out of shape. Mowers are pretty hardy single cylinder engines. Most people run them with one set of oil (or close to that) for their entire lives and they'll cop a lot of abuse. Unless there wasn't enough oil, or somehow the oil wasn't being distributed properly I don't think it would just seize. Probably a problem with the oil, since its very unlikely it overheated. That or mechanical problems. Take it back, you have a strong case.
