231451 2004-04-23 03:42:00 Can anyone tell me what this file that's trying to access the net is, I can't find the file anywhere on the computer but Zone Alarm keeps asking for permission. Do I block or allow.
File name -AUMagic File size 0 KB
and if it's size is 0 KB how could it do anything?

231454 2004-04-23 06:27:00 Thanks for the reply ruqila & godfather, but which one is it, Audible Magic Solutions or Windows Update? Still don't know if I block or allow. jebby (4580)

231456 2004-04-23 07:02:00 How would we know which it is?

You never mentioned that you were actually running Windows, let alone which version ...

231457 2004-04-23 07:20:00 Sorry Godfather, didn't know it would make a difference, I only want to know what the file is. My o/s is Windows ME if that helps. jebby (4580)
231458 2004-04-23 07:31:00 Just a thought although I don't know either.

I think it likely that Audible Magic would shorten to AuMagic. That one is potential spyware looking at P2P transfers.

whereas Automatic Update Magic may be more likely AUMagic.

Also Win ME may be a pointer.

Still, if you don't know a good idea is to be somewhat suspicious until you do know.

231459 2004-04-23 07:35:00 AU in the AUMagic is for Automatic Updates. Magic is just Microsoft's way for making it creative. This 'process' effectively performs automatic updates under Windows ME for a few files

Highly likely its Automatic Updater
