231271 2004-04-22 14:25:00 I have two games that I am having sound problems with, Rainbow six 3: Raven Shield and Far Cry, (both Ubisoft).
In Raven Shield I cannot hear the voices or music.
In Far Cry I cannot hear the gun, voice, or in-game music.
In Far Cry I can hear the other caracter gun and voice noises though.

My sound setup is Audigy 2 ZS with Creative 7.1 speakers

Anybody got a suggestion??

231272 2004-04-22 22:26:00 That's really difficult to analyse because ther're so many settings between your O/S, sound card and maybe speaker software too. Is your card capable of utilising the 7.1's properly? Perhaps you have a setting that u can change to 5.1 and see if that makes a difference? Greg S (201)
231273 2004-04-22 22:31:00 I do believe that 7.1 is just 5.1 with a couple of the channels rebroadcast to the extra set of speakers....

Presuming that your soundcard has an application to test the speakers in the 7.1 configuration and this works fine then

A.Its a setting in the game under audio properties.

B.Multi-speakers are not correctly suported by the game.

231274 2004-04-23 01:09:00 There might be a patch out for the respective games which fix it.

Sometimes they leave bits of technical info like audio problems in the game's manual on your hard drive.

Grab the latest drivers from creative.

231275 2004-04-23 01:40:00 The sound card supports 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1.
It works fine in other games, I've only had problems with the Ubisoft games.

In the game audio menu they have speaker setup options for 5.1 dolby and surround, so I'll try setting the speaker setup options to 5.1, (don't know if I can do that)??
Then try the game on 5.1 dolby.

Thanks for the help people.

231276 2004-04-23 01:46:00 The souncard supports 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 speaker setups.
They work fine in other games but have only had trouble with Ubisoft games.
The game audio menu has speaker setup options for 5.1 Dolby and Surround, so I'll try setting the speaker configoration to 5.1 and try the Dolby setting in the game.

Thanks for the help people.
