| 231559 | 2004-04-23 09:50:00 | I just formatted and did a clean install (of Windows XP Professional) on a friend's computer which was previously running Windows XP Home Edition. I formatted the harddisk and even had to get rid of the partition as there was 4GB in another partition that Windows could not previously see. Now everytime I boot up the system, I get a menu that asks me whether I want to boot up Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Personal Edition (Whistler). This bootup menu stays on the screen for 30 seconds unless someone presses enter. Any ideas as to how to get rid of this menu? |

Have you tried clicking on WinXP Personal Edition and finding out where it takes you? Either way, you can remove the entry from the boot.ini file, or select the default OS and set the timeout to zero seconds. Noel Nosivad |
