231241 2004-04-22 09:54:00 In helping my girlfriend with her PC in getting rid of a dialer, I got her to download AVG and Adaware . She asked me if she should also run "PC power scan 1 . 0" .

I found this website on it : . clickslink . com/links/pc_powerscan . html" target="_blank">www . clickslink . com and it looked dodgy to me . Sounds like they are making a lot of false claims ect .

So I told her to uninstall it .

Here is the problem . It's not on the add/remove list?!

How does she get rid of it?

231243 2004-04-24 01:00:00 Look for an entry in the Start>Programs menus, possibly in accessories and see if there is an uninstall function provided.

Another way to disable it is to right-click on the program icon, select "Properties" and look in the "Target" box for the location of the exe file. Browse to that location in Explorer, right click the file and rename it as [filename].ex_ which will stop it running while you find a better way to get rid of it. The latter method may cause error messages to appear saying the file can't be found but that is only a minor inconvenience.

Then do a Google search on the program name plus uninstall, remove or removal and see if you can get any helpful ideas there.

Of course you could always contact the program's website and ask them, you never know, it could work.:|
