| 231837 | 2004-04-24 14:50:00 | I've got a dvd player on my comp..always have had.. also have had Dvd Region Killer as well...but since i reformatted my PC ages ago and never put it back on... I got given a september 11 dvd on saturday evening so came home to watch it along with a couple other zone 1 dvds that i got given (these are rentals apart from sept 11 but all are zone1) and i owe a zone 4 dvd.... So i dug out my box of cds and reinstalled dvdregion killer and powerdvd4 which i know work together from history of usage... But when i put the dvd on i get "dvd region is fixed and can only play dvds fo that region" so i checked to see how many region changed my computer has and it says 4... so i restarted my computer thinking that was the issue but i still get the same error... Wat am i doing wrong? I cant work it out? And I also checked to see if they were definately not zone 4 by trying it on my playstation and it says not correct zone so yeah... Can someone please help :) Am using winxp home, powerdvd4.0 and dvdregionkiller (the one that gives u a globe in the systray) Cheers |

| 231843 | 2004-04-25 05:03:00 | ok what i've done is i took off what i had relating to dvds... downloaded powerdvd 4.0 again incase my copy was stuffed... restarted computer...then installed powerdvd.. then downloaded dvd region free from that link... installed it.. restarted computer.. went to power dvd to play movie.. i press play it goes for a lil moment but no image (wouldnt know if theres sound) then i see the green word "stop" in the right hand top corner... so obviously something is really wrong here :( |

| 231844 | 2004-04-25 06:32:00 | I use DVD X Ghost. However, you can only use it for a trial period of 21 days I believe. But at least you got enough time to watch your DVDs, I hope. www.dvdxghost.com |

| 231846 | 2004-04-25 06:52:00 | Yeah you could always use smartripper and rip the dvd to your hard drive and watch it. That would get rid of the region problem and encryption. | PoWa (203) | ||
