| 231587 | 2004-04-23 11:36:00 | I believe I have a virus. AVG, Adware SkyBolt all say no probs. But IE6 slow at times. I have caught under task mgr processor free 98% with no other numbers in any other process. But once under graph it was maxed out hence my no response. Used startup prog turned off all programs so hopefully only windows prog running still slow. Wen i startup windows if i dont start IE6 metadirect will offen request internet connection. If I log on as another user metadirect request internet straight away. Is there a program or method that will log evey action the pc does and what files are accessed until it is stopped. If I can find this B---dy meta direct I may be well on the way to fixing speed issue. |

| 231588 | 2004-04-23 11:54:00 | Have you done an update on ad-aware? It is supposed to clean out this beasty. Otherwise, you could download a trial of Pest patrol from here (www.pestpatrol.com) to clean it out. |

| 231589 | 2004-04-23 11:58:00 | Also , check if metadirect is running under services. (the alt-ctrl-del) then processes tab. Oh it isn't a virus, it is a "hijacker". After the cleanout, consider installing another freebee, SpywareBlaster , which acts like an "innoculation" against a lot of these hijacks. |
