232151 2004-04-26 03:24:00 Hi All

I’m having a gianormous clean up of my PC, getting rid of unused utilities (why do we collect so many).
I seem to have lots of different progs for viewing moving pictures i.e. avi, mpg, wmv, mov etc.
Is there a favored (free) player that will handle all these file types?
Also is the a prog that will joins small files from my digital camera, and also split big files from my digital video (most of these files are mpegs)
During the clean up I found and deleted a pile of Reference Disks for old IBM PCs and even some utilities for logging permanently bad blocks on old MFM hard drives. Remember those

Cheers

232153 2004-04-26 04:21:00 well my favorite player is zoomplayer.

trouble is there is a lot of closed formats such as quicktime and realmedia. other players can play them but you need their player installed or hacked ver of it. also for streaming it can get a bit tricky not useing the correct player.

for most avi vids virtualdub (and mods of it) can do a lot of editing.
