232612 2004-04-28 02:05:00 I have built a new PC and want to use Thunderbird and Firefox instead of IE and OE as I did on my old PC.

I copied my old hard drive onto my new PC and placed the files onto the second HDD.

I am now wanting to import my old email addresses, received email, sent emails and favourites.

Where do I find them on my old PC? :(:(

Thanks in advance.

232613 2004-04-28 02:16:00 Try here (www.google.co.nz x&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&hl=en&meta=) for a start

232614 2004-04-28 03:58:00 Thanks Merlin.

I think I worded my original question incorrectly :(

In what directory and under what names (what files am I looking for) do I find my old email, and addresses?

232615 2004-04-28 04:38:00 Location depends on the version of Windows .

Regardless of windows version, later versions of OE use a dbx extension, earlier versions use an idx extension .

The windows address book has a wab extenstion .

If sharing the address book with Outlook, pab files are used .

Search for the location .
Backup critical data .

232616 2004-04-28 04:42:00 Do a search on your hard drive for *.dbx for the email folders and *.wab for your address book. ;-) Fire-and-Ice (3910)
