That would suggest you need to extract the old version from your Win 98 PC and load it on the XP PC. This article discusses the problem in relationship to Windows ME and XP, and for problems on other programs but is likely the same issue you have. support.microsoft.com |

You get the dirtiest looks! Sadly there haven't been that many opportunities to do that lately. I was interested in this thread because I plan to do the same thing when I update my PC. Little more possibility for it not working for me though as I need to install the MS Office 97 SBE OEM and then install the 2000 update version over the top of that. I won't be surprised if I end up having to buy the current 2003 version (although I dare say my daughter and her student ID will buy me the Academic version). |
