| 233040 | 2004-04-29 23:07:00 | I have Win98se, IE/OE v6.0 Connecting to the internet is OK, But when I click on a link to open a new browser window, I get an error message.. do you want to send the error to MS.... This happens with links within e-mails and on websites, when clicking on a link is suppose to open a new browser window. Any insights as to what is going on & what the fix is. Thank you |

Restore the oleaut32.dll using the System File Checker: Using SFC to extract files 1. Go to Start>Run and enter SFC and click OK 2. Check "Extract one File" 3. Enter the file name and click on "Start" 4. In the "Restore from" field enter:: D:\WIN98 [if 'D' is not the letter of your CD-Rom drive, modify appropriately] 5. Click OK 2. Run mcrepair ( 1. 0/WIN98/EN-US/mcrepair.EXE" target="_blank">download.microsoft.com) from Microsoft. It contains a matched set consisting of ---------- ASYCFILT.DLL 2.40.4515 OLEAUT32.DLL 2.40.4515 OLEPRO32.DLL 5.0.4515 STDOLE2.TLB 2.40.4515 ------- and will properly unregister the current ones and register this set. |
