| 233012 | 2004-04-29 12:25:00 | Every new version of the IntelliPoint driver seems to have less functionality than the previous one. When I upgraded my old Win98 machine to version 3 I lost the wraparound feature (which makes the pointer jump to the opposite side of the screen when it passes the edge) but it worked better so I kept it. Now that I am using XP I seem to be stuck with version 5; its top speed is to me on the slow side of medium, that is, it's to slow for me; and it has no acceleration option!...!...! It pisses me off that I cant move the pointer across the screen without having to lift the mouse and move it back to the side of the pad to complete the operation. Does any one know of any XP compatible IntelliPoint drivers that have acceleration? Is there a workaround? I am tired - already - of feeling half crippled by this thing! | Vince (406) | ||

Tell us all about your mouse. Is it Microsoft brand. Is it PS/2 or USB or even possibly connected to a Com port? |

It came with MS IntelliPoint 5.0 driver installed. The mouse connects by a standard mouse port on the system board. The pointer dosen't always jump to the default button even though it is set to do so. |

| 233015 | 2004-04-30 04:39:00 | I was aware that XP had its own Acceleration, because this has often pissed my mates off in games. The latest version i downloaded for Win98 has the acceleration feature. not to sure about wrap-around | MrBeef (342) | ||

I am of course aware of the mouse settings in the Control Panel, otherwise I wouldn't know that acceleration was not available. I had a look just now, incase I had missed something and what do you know, the settings had reverted to default! 'Enhanced Pointer Precision' was enabled again, slowing the pointer. It's still slower than I like though with precision disabled. XP isn't that much better than 98 after all. |
