2004-04-28 22:39:00 | Maybe I was lucky but I found a workaround to PF1 being down. Trial and error showed that the search function was still active, so searched for one of my own posts as I really needed to see if there was an answer to it. There was thanks BL, though a few more would be great. See my post re USB Cables - Hi Billy T - think you might be able to help :-) Anyway........ from the search function I was then able to log on and away we went :-) And this was while the main screen was showing PF1 ERROR and something about an error summary, though the summary would not list. Perhaps just lucky :-)

2004-04-28 22:47:00 | Ah, I now see that PF1 went down at around 10PM, thought when I tried to go online at around 7 PM the error message was being displayed though the summary would not list. Perhaps Mrs PF1 and just belted Mr PF1 with the frying pan and he threw some sort of wobbly which took my connection out at 7PM :-)

2004-04-29 00:42:00 | LOL i bet you were all running for cover when you found out PF1 was down, due to the stampede it would cause of the PF1 regulars having no fix of it last night..... thanxs to who ever fixed it, and always a greatful thanxs to the poeple who run and keep it running. also for the good helpful site that the people at PC world supports, I and possibly some others round here much appreciate it. you never know how much you need something till its not there....... this is where ya need the thumbs up emoticon...... thanxs beetle

2004-04-29 01:45:00 | You are too generous and forgiving beetle, this forum is a useful advertising and information exchange tool for PC World and the frequent outages and slow downs do nothing for the image or credibility of the organization. | Jim B (153) | |

2004-04-29 02:00:00 | The reality is the forum has problems that can be easily fixed, the fact that they aren't does not reflect well on a company with a professional image to uphold. This is not a knock to our moderators,it has already been stated that the desicion to to fix the board is not in their hands. Still, its not good.
