232977 2004-04-29 11:53:00 I am new to WXP Home.
Whenever I want to connect I find a long row of about ten dots in my password line, which has to be deleted first. My own password is only six.

I have not ticked to save my password. Its noone else's password. What gives?

Any ideas on how to get a blank box please?

232978 2004-04-29 12:02:00 Standard security feature, it displays a larger number of 'dots'

Stops people guessing the password on length... 'oh it's 5 letters, must be the Cat's name'

232979 2004-04-29 12:03:00 its not a problem. XP dos that so you can't guess the amount of letters in your password. tweak'e (174)

About ten dots? Its more likely to be sixteen dots.

Even if you save the password it will still give a box of sixteen dots but you will not need to type it in.

Unfortunately no. The dots save anyone guessing as it were.
