233212 2004-04-30 14:36:00 Hi all

Setting up JetStart for a friend, who bought a DLink 302g ADSL router. Have entered all the settings;
Operating Mode T1.413, VPI 0, VCI 100, Protocol PPPoA, etc....

BUT... we can't connect. Rather than coming up 'Connected' as it should, the 'Operating Status' stays at 'LCP'.

I would love to hear from anyone who has set up this modem and had it working, or any from ANYONE who can offer some advice.

Cheers

233213 2004-04-30 18:59:00 I don't know about it specifically. However, are you sure ADSL is up and running? You could try the modem at your house (if you have ADSL) or somewhere else. You could also try your ADSL modem at friends house to test line. That is what I would do.
Plus make sure you have the latest drivers.

233214 2004-04-30 21:56:00 I had to do the exact same thing for the neighbour....

Does the connect light on the front turn on? I'd imagine not. They had to get somesort of special filter in and it only worked on like two phonellines or something extremely complicated....

What i do know is that you have to give it a while, and it can often be very finniicky....

233215 2004-04-30 22:11:00 They can take a while to come up, and filters need to be on every phone line in the house, plus the electric toothbrush (mine is on a line with zero other phones on, clean as a whistle, pure as the driven snow, etc).
But looking for the link light is a good point.

233216 2004-04-30 22:17:00 Try changing the operating mode to G.Dmt?

233217 2004-05-01 00:15:00 I know that the line is set up correctly, as I tried out my modem (a Dynalink RTA220), and it worked perfectly.

When the 'Operating Status' is at 'LCP', the ADSL link is blinking constantly, as is the Status light.

If we can't get it going soon, we may have to commit the unthinkable sin, and PAY someone to come look at it....!!!
