| 233198 | 2004-04-30 13:38:00 | hey guys. im having a bit of trouble with my internet. for some reasons when i try to view .com sites and the likes, it really is very slow. now im only on a 56k, so i shouldnt be asking for much. now when i got to .co.nz and new zealand sites ending with .com, they work fine, still a little longer wait than they should be, but fine. i have a bit of an unreliable phone line aswell. would it be my phone line, my Laptop, or the phone cabelling ? im running on Ibook G3-500. 384MB RAM, os X panther 10.3.3 with all the latest updates. cheers. And the difference in loading between a .com and co.nz site you can't really argue about because we don't where the site might be hosted, for eg. I have seen somewhere that google.co.nz is hosted in the US. You're running a mac so I dunno about 'cleaning up' the comp. Like all the cookies and temp files and stuff you get with windows. Maybe a good spring clean is what you need. Nice task for these autumn nights. :) |

| 233202 | 2004-05-01 09:44:00 | The first thing I would do is give the computer a full system scan with up-to-date anti-virus/trojan and spyware detection tools. See the forum's FAQ on Spyware for information. Link to FAQs top right of this page - they take a while to load so be patient. If that doesn't help contact your ISP and explain your problem to them. |
