| 233204 | 2004-04-30 12:44:00 | Hey i hav recently purchased a new 128mb ram chip, i have put it in one computer with another 128mb chip. BUT... the computer is only finding 192mb when there is 256mb i have tried removing them an changing order but still no luck does anyone know?? Also in another pc i hav got a 32mb ram chip and 64mb chip. but the pc wont boot now. it will occasionally boot with the 64 in on its own but only finds 16mbs any help here?? Thanks |

| 233205 | 2004-04-30 12:54:00 | hey . are you sure you purchased a 128MB chip . and are you sure that your PC previously already had a 128MB chip? becuase if it reads 192MB, then that is a combonation of a 128 and a 64 MB ram . and the reason for your other PC not booting is that you might have 2 different types of RAM, eg . SD and DDR . Cheers james . |

| 233209 | 2004-04-30 21:48:00 | re Jams post...........you CANT interchange ddr and sd ram they haev different number of pins and are NOT physically compatible........it's impossible......also regardign ram .......some systems cannot 'address' certain types of ram correctly.......what you haev bought most likely was single sided ram.....the cheapest......you'll possibly have to buy double sided in order for the system to fully recognise it... | drcspy (146) | ||
