| 233076 | 2004-04-30 05:28:00 | I'm looking to buy some digital kitchen scales and have seen some Arlec ones at Mitre10 and Dick Smith. I wonder if anyone has an opinion about the quality of Arlec stuff? The prices seem good, but are they a case of you get what you pay for? It also worries me slightly that you see the Arlec name on a huge range of different things, which makes me think they might do a lot of stuff but none very well (maybe). TIA Tony Bacon |

Really pretty bad and I'd never get any more. Plenty of better varieties around. 2. Got an Arlec 4amp battery charger (for car batteries) a couple of years ago from Dick Smith. Battled with it for a year and then tossed it out, pretty bad. Got a different, better make, very good, no problems. Don't know anything about kitchen scales. |

Arlec are middle of the road products at a very reasonable price. Seems today more than ever that price dictates quality, you normally get what you pay for. Pibs |
