233074 2004-04-30 05:17:00 I have a Sony Vaio GRT-30P I can burn a DVD but then cant read the one that I have just burnt. The DVD is able to be read by other DVD drives no problems. I have upgraded the firmware but no joy. Any help? TallPoppy (3506)
233075 2004-04-30 22:25:00 That is a bit strange you can write to but not read from the DVD on your laptop. What type of DVD disk are you using?

I see your laptops DVD burner specifications are:
DVD±RW Drive
Maximum reading speed:
DVD+R, DVD+RW: 2x
DVD-R, DVD-RW: 2x
DVD-ROM: 5x
CD-R, CD-ROM: 24x
Maximum writing speed:
DVD+R, DVD+RW: 2x
DVD-R, DVD-RW: 1x
CD-R: 16x
CD-RW: 8x

The Optical Drive Ver.1.5f Upgrade firmware patch that you installed was for not being able to write data to a 4x speed DVD+RW.

Maybe someone else has a suggestion?
