You can d/l it from the Jetstreamgames site which will be marginally quicker cos it's a local server and not over-busy. I know a lot of guys who play it on dial-up with quite acceptable performance |

Will probably cost you $10 or $20 but considering this game would probably retail for $99 but is actually free... :P And yes, Greg is right - there are heaps of AA gamers on dial ups. A disadvantage but not unplayable (unless you are connecting to the net via the fence wire at your farm :) ) |

| 233372 | 2004-05-03 04:36:00 | Age of Empires 2 is my only regular escape from reality. Occasional dives into Close Combat, European Air War and MS Golf does it for me. (If I could get Transport Tycoon to run on my PC I'd probably spend a bit of time doing that too.) Being incredibly bored at work on Thursday, I got into that old Windows freebie, 'Minesweeper' for about the first time in 5 years. Fun to go back to the basics every now and then. You FPS junkies want an extra dimension to your games? I've often wondered what it would be like if those games could be hooked up to a device to cause pain to the player when you get wounded. Thinking ... electrodes ... or a device with a sharp pointy thing that jabs you at the appropriate time. I mean, getting shot should hurt a little bit....and it would add to the realism. |

Minesweeper, Solitaire. Anything my beast can play (celeron 500 with 16 meg pci tnt2 and 192mb ram) >2) Favourite game type, eg strategy, sim, FPS etc? It all depends, i like mainly FPS game but i enjoy a dish of strategy like AOEs. I dont mind Sim, but they get boring. |

| 233378 | 2004-05-03 06:20:00 | Perhaps I have a different definition of unplayable. Infact, unplayable was probably a poor choice or words, unsatisfactory maybe? (and who wants to be the first to point out that infact isnt a real world so I must be inferior) HA |
