233578 2004-05-02 03:18:00 Seems that Telecom Mobile (027 at least) has been overloaded of late . I have had times (hours) when no txts were getting through, yet I was able to make phone calls .

Maybe the $10 txt deal was more popular than telecom anticipated?

Anyway, the point of this post is to discuss about when the system is overloaded .

When it's overloaded and txts aren't getting through, surley this has to be illegal (on telecoms part?), because you are paying for a service that isnt being provided .

What can be done about this? Is it a fair comment? Is a refund out of order?

Thoughts please .

233579 2004-05-02 03:21:00 When in particular have you had this problem (i.e a specific time of day) or is it random. Personally I have had absolutely no problems with txt's or calls getting through. Perhaps you should firstly, call telecom support and ask if this is network related, and secondly have a look and see if it is a problem with your phone

233580 2004-05-02 03:47:00 i think they found it too popular. as of yesterday they changed their terms and conditions of it. 500 txts for $10 then 20c a txt after that. stiven (1952)

It's true :_|

That's only 16 txt's per day....

How can they do that with out at least informing their customers?

233583 2004-05-02 04:03:00 I'm sure telecom will tell people that they're still making QOS ( quality of service ) benchmark for it's text service :D

Anyone that does experience problems will be told "it's an issolated case" or maybe the phone needs to be "upgraded... and by the way we have some great new deals!!"

Or maybe they'll blame Vodafone? since it was their technology in the first place.

It just seems to be happening recently.

Good idea. How would I know if it was my phone?

233585 2004-05-02 04:12:00 Ok I just rung and the operator said that for existing customers (customers that brought their phone before the 1st of June) That the new $10 txt plan comes into effect on the first of May. For all others it comes into effect immediatley.

To find out how many txts you have sent this month you can ring *333 and it will give you a count and your balance.
