233484 2004-05-01 13:27:00 I have upgraded from ME to XP Home and now find that my modem connect speed never gets above 38.6 kbps whereas before the upgrade is was never less than 50kbps.
My Notebook which runs XP Pro only connects at 38.6 kbps also
Any clues as to why the lower speed now?

233486 2004-05-02 02:27:00 The Modem is a Conexant HSF V92 Data Fax PCI Modem Muzza (600)
233487 2004-05-02 03:16:00 conexant is the maker of the chip the modem uses. you need to find the brand and model number. have a look on the side of the modem. the telecom sticker normally has the model number on it as well. tweak'e (174)
233488 2004-05-02 06:21:00 AT-V90=0 is a good string for Conexant modems. Try putting that in extra settings. whiskeytangofoxtrot (438)
