233875 2004-05-03 06:58:00 Hmmmmm does everyone find that at least half the attachments sent to them have been deleted by the xtra filter or is it just me. This is not new, it has been going on since the programme started and happens with even gold plated trusted senders. I never had this problem when I was just using Mcaffee. Hey but dont get me wrong ---- its great to have it, but it would be good if it wasnt quite so arbitrary. Maybe I can adjust something? weevies1 (5573)
233876 2004-05-03 08:37:00 I use Xtra and send and receive dozens of attachments every day, and none are ever stripped.

Perhaps the problem is more fundamental to your own system, as the attachments must be identified as carrying a virus to be removed in the first place.

How confident are you that you are not infected, bearing in mind some common Virus activiry is to neutralise your own antivirus software from actually working.

Do an on-line scan at housecall or similar?

233877 2004-05-03 10:32:00 I'd bet someone elses paycheck that it is the old 'OE has removed access to this attachment' biffo.

Tools --> Options --> Security --> untick 'Do not allow attach...'

233879 2004-05-15 14:55:00 Ironically I entered this thread again tonight purely to have a look as it was on the front page and I didn't remember visiting it before.

I read through my own post, and though 'hmm that sounds like something I'd say' before realising it was my own.

Seems this late night essay writing is damaging my brain.

Glad you've got it sorted.

233880 2004-05-16 06:43:00 Hmm... the problem I've been having is that Xtra isn't removing virus-infected emails (about 2 a day for quite a while now). Luckily Norton Antivirus Picked them up and deleted them. somebody (208)
