| 233944 | 2004-05-03 11:01:00 | Hi, As some of you might know, I am dual-booting with WinXP pro and Win98 . Whenever I install new hardware, such as Firewire card, or scanner, or printer etc etc, I install it into WinXP . When I boot into Win98, it doesn't finish loading up, because it's got these alerts popping up asking something like 'we have identified new hardware, click here to install it' (or words to that effect) . I don't want to install it into Win98 (only use that for gaming), how do I get win98 to stop looking for new hardware, at startup? And wanting to install the drivers for it? Thanks, caffy |

That will disable win98 autodetecting that device each time it boots |
