Running XP Home. Have a routine for clearing unwanted files, just run Zone Alarm Cache cleaner and removed 1.5 GB of files. In pop3.xtra.co.nz found Inbox file containing 198Mb but in the actual Inbox doubt if there is more than half MB. Presume this file contains all the Mail that has ever been in the Inbox although mail is either trashed or moved to a record folder/file after action.
Try to open Inbox file that has no suffix and you get the "Windows cannot open". Is there any way to modify this file to hold only say the last months Inbox mail?. There is a similar Drafts file of about 1 Mb but the actual Draft Box is empty. |

Are you using Outlook Express? If so, ensure that OE is set to Offline Mode, go to File, Folder, Compact all folders. This should free up the space. |
