234225 2004-05-04 06:57:00 Disabled everything from starting up except the firewal & AV.
Still has a horrible boot up time. About 3-5min?
I don't want to format and reinstall but it may come to that *rolls eyes*

234226 2004-05-04 07:03:00 Ah,

Yes, I looked into that. I do not have the Sasser virus. I am running fully up to date AVG7 & ZoneAlarm 4.5 Pro. I used the stinger program and it didn't find anything either.

234228 2004-05-04 07:28:00 Try a system restore to just before you noticed the slow down. Then compare running processes. Jester (13)
234229 2004-05-04 07:39:00 *gulp* I have never been able to successfully use the restore feature.
I guess I'll back up my registry & try it.

234230 2004-05-04 07:51:00 Ah. I remember that I turned system restore off. The only point that I have was from 4pm yesterday and I had the problem then. Another interesting thing, now that ImageF1 doesn't existe, here is a link

234231 2004-05-04 07:59:00 Those white boxes may be to do with your background colour settings on your desktop, or Style XP, which I noticed in your start-up list.

Image F1 is still in operation too:

234232 2004-05-04 08:50:00 If you are not on a network, why have you got netdde.exe running?

Netdde.exe:
Network DDE server for Microsoft Windows.
This software allows applications that use the DDE transport to transparently exchange data over a network.

The reason for the slow boot was covered near the start of the thread, that you may have some Network services looking for a network and timing out. The presence of netdde.exe suggests this could be the case.

234233 2004-05-04 10:44:00 I prunded my services. One Windows has loaded it is now only a couple of mintues before it is running smoothly again. But I still have the monsterous boot time. I'm using a custom log on so I will turn that off and see what happens. Here is (another) HiJackThis log:
