To get businesses interested you need to disclose just what the idea is, and to do that without first gaining some protection you might as well give the ideas away free now.

Be prepared for disappointments along the way. An idea must be novel (= new) and not already subject to anyone elses patent or copyright.

Thank you for your help.

The idea of patenting is a sound one, however how much do I have to have had developed before doing this. And looking at the fees... Is there such a thing as an initial patent or something?

Do I need to create a prototype?

Thanks.

Kind Regards,

William
