| 234492 | 2004-05-05 00:46:00 | I'm gonna setup wireless internet at my place and I've a question that I want to clarify :) The little black box which connects to the aerial on my roof will be sitting in my garage. Normally you would just connect that black box to a hub and done. Situation here is .. 4 PCs in the bedroom connected to a hub which is far away from the garage. The quesiton here is .. can i connect an Access Point to that black box in the garage and have the PCs connected to a Broadband Wireless Router which has 4 10/100 ports? :D I know normally people would connect the Broadband Wireless Router to that black box and have the Access Point connected to a hub then to the PC. So what I have done here is switched the Wirless Broadband Router and Access Point position around. Will it work? Cheers |

| 234493 | 2004-05-06 14:14:00 | what do you mean when you say little black box? perhaps you should go ask at nzwireless.org where wireless enthusiasts will be better able to answer your questions (no offence to pressf1, they're just a bit more specialised) |

And as long as the access point and the broadband wireless router with 4 port switch are the same brand they shouldn't have any problems talking to each other. | CYaBro (73) | ||
