| 234736 | 2004-05-10 00:10:00 | Okay, I took Jesters advice and took my PC round to a mates place - still slow on Paradise, fine on his Orcon account! Tried his PC (an old beast - mine is only 1.7 GHz, but 512Mb RAM, 80 G HD, Win 2000 prof) with Paradise - slow, and fine with his Orcon account. SO I rang Paradise, and they put me on to Microsoft, thinking I had the worm. Instaled the latest patch, and checked for Sassar - no viruses detected! Microsoft told me they think Paradise might be infected! Rang back Paradise and they told me (load of crock) that my modem is not compatable with their servers anymore! Bulls*ht! It's worked fine for two years, they have not made any major upgrades, and now they say I'm incompatable! Sheesh. The Rep. I spoke to advised me to move to a new ISP - which I have since done, now on Xtra Jetstream. Can't believe Paradise's stance - hope they lose revenue on this, something is crazy at their end and they won't admit it! Thanks for everyones advice - sorry I couldn't write more in response to your questions, I simply could not load the page again! (On my mates Orcon account at the mo, Xtra installed Monday). Anyway.I rung paradise again.And this time they blame the static on the line.I've recently got the fone's line replaced just outisde the house. Its like very technician comes up with a different sympton I called again and this time they say its the virus.They don't know when it will be fix he only said u just have to wait. I think a lot of people have been complaining to them in the taranaki district because i rung the general enquiries of paradise and this time they asked if i live in new plymouth or waitara |

Do u reckon that ever since paradise got taken over by clear .Paradise isn't doing too well? |

| 234740 | 2004-05-11 01:56:00 | Paradise wasn't taken over by Clear, Clear was bought out by TelstraSaturn.... and yes, it has gone to s*** since then.....funnily enough, Clear.Net hasn't been affected as badly and only seems to be Paradise.Net's national servers, not wellingtons!!! | 234742 | 2004-05-11 02:46:00 | Im not righting a complaint to paradise.I connected on monday and its like dead slow. Im very angry at paradise but trying not to go to another isp.Its just that Im not sure how fast they are.If i do change to say something like xtra.What if i connect to them and i find that they're network is also slow? My dad is currently paying for my internet connection.I don't wanna go through all the signature forms again.if i do i have to send it overseas to my dad then bak to nz ... I think paradise really need to do something.we all agree rite? |

| 234744 | 2004-05-15 07:25:00 | In my experience there is only one, and one only way to fix the frustrating Paradise 'exceptionally slow download' problem. Change your ISP immediately. I know it is a pain changing but believe me it is the only solution. With the groups I work with I have investigated this problem very thoroughly and those who were connected to Paradise are greatly relieved to have these days of frustration behind them by changing their ISP. I moved to www.inspire.net.nz , the Palmerston North company, and am absolutely delighted with the service I am getting from them. Go with whom you wish but I sincerely suggest you make the move and preserve your sanity. I wish Paradise well, but if only they had fronted up and admitted THEIR problem I could probably have lived with it a bit longer. Happy computing, Dumb-bell. |
