The least they could do would be to post an explanation on their home page. What the hell are we paying them for? I rung the paradise tech line.At first they put me on hold for 1.5 hours.I then hung up.Later I called them back again.was put on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up.I then rang them bak again and they put me on hold for 1 minute.I got through.They didnt' say they ahd any problems paradise.They just gave me a modem string and told me to tried a different phone number. They didn't work.I email paradise and they told me that they have increased network trafic. Yeah my sister.Downloaded a 1mb email.TAkes more than 1 hour?YEA RITE! |

| 234729 | 2004-05-07 05:14:00 | I've just rung around a bit, there seem to be SOME issues with "SmartLink" modems so check modem types...also, ring into Paradise or email to report the faults you're having. If it's only a couple of people who ring in no one will think anything of it, but if a whole lot of people ring in to report similar faults, a lightbulb might turn on in someone's head!! Also, if all else fails, Clear.Net and Paradise are same company (....) now so try switching to Clear account - shouldn't be too much trouble....(famous last words!!)!! Or you could try moving to Wellington - we have our own servers down here!!! lol!! | davidb (5576) | ||
| 234730 | 2004-05-07 05:21:00 | I left Paradise last year due to slow dial-up, then slow adsl. Paradise said it was my lines, my pc and so on, when I could get through to them. New ISP (Orcon) has better connection speed, and they answer their phones when you ring them. J :D |

| 234731 | 2004-05-07 10:45:00 | Murray, thanks for the explanation in words I understand. yes, I do have windows update done automatically, as this puter is only a month old, even with the microsoft cd, it still took me over a week to bring down the new microsoft updates that it said were critical. No, don't think it is that virus, as the puter is behaving, ie, not shutting down etc, but the connection speed sucks. LOL. Still trying to get hubby to shift our telephone jack out of the bedroom, to beside the puter, so I won't have to run a phone extension cord. | supergran (108) | ||

| 234733 | 2004-05-07 20:34:00 | Checking back on the postings: WolfSGB, an incidental point on this topic is that Spybot will not check for the latest nasties because they have not issued any updates for a couple of weeks, as: Hello Orto, Unfortunately, there has been no update since then. This is because we are working hard on the 1.3 version which will be released in the next days. This update will also include a large number of new detection rules.
