| 234916 | 2004-05-07 05:05:00 | Hi all, Found it thank you Mutty P - and leg pulling aside - if Susan B can acknowledge info as she did - so can I - and I know ruddy well I am not in her class. I am downlaoding as I type the crucial file- 15 mintes of time - and a detection removall file as well - which promptly came up with "no virus detected" - must have been a quick check, - I assume I keep this file for a while. The KB835732 had to be chased as they said "sorry we can't help but try --such and such " Bingo! Thank you all effie c |

| 234919 | 2004-05-07 05:38:00 | Oops :8}, sorry Eddie - I put links in my previous posts straight to the Manual Download Pages which suited what "I" am running - i . e XP SP1 . However . . . if you do happen to be using "XP SP1" then click the links in both of my posts for the paticular Updates i numbered there, then look to the right, near top of the page and choose language and then download etc . . Luckily Susan gave you the correct link to the download page so you can choose the "right" one for your system . Nicely Spotted Susan :-) **If you still have no luck navigating the MS site for the Manual Updates, i am sure if you post the update no . 's you need and your system specs, one of us would be only to happy to post links straight to the Manual Download pages for you :-) . IIRC sometimes you can get in a bit of a loop when trying to find Manual Updates, with being taken back to the actual "Windows Update" page again if your using I . E (i use Firefox;-)) . |

| 234921 | 2004-05-07 08:03:00 | Really glad that Effie C all fixed up . Nevertheless I have had for weeks and continue to have problems with KB831167 . On checking I was advised that it had downloaded "successfully" on five separate occasions by the M/S Update site . When I checked, however, to see what had downloaded then I was told again that I needed KB831167 . I have tried a manual download and that appeared successful, but then when I checked with the update site it says that I need KB831167 . I have tried deleting the update and then re-installing - however again the same result . Have tried (and tried, and tried) very hard . What am I doing so wrong please ??? Misty X-( :_| |
