Just installed Win98 and I can't remember how to configure extra com ports. Help please? |

Configure in what way? If the hardware exists, it will normally be recognised by the BIOS and by the OS. If there's a modem card, its software will usually set its port address and IRQ. Just remember that COM1 and 3 share IRQ 4; COM2 and 4 share IRQ 3 for "normal" DOS style software and hardware. Older cards might have jumpers to set the port address and IRQ. |

After the Win98 install it has given me, Com port 1, and LPT1. My modem is set to Com port 3, so how do I get Com ports 2,3 etc to appear? |

You have to install the software for the modem and then all will be well. |
