1361496	2013-12-02 23:20:00	Had a power problem with my laptop which my daughter's fiance fixed but since then I find that the inbuilt camera is not working. I would like to know how I can get it running again, please. The laptop is a HP Pavillion dv6000 running Vista Home Basic. Thanks for your help.	Roscoe (6288)
1361497	2013-12-03 00:27:00	First you need to determine if its actually being detected. Open something Like Skype, or even the audio Settings in the control Panel, if its detected it will show there. Otherwise depending on what was done to the laptop to fix the power problem, if it was dismantled it may it may not be plugged back in fully or at all, or it could have blown. Theres normally a wire or ribbon that runs around the screen down into the motherboard connecting the two.	wainuitech (129)
1361498	2013-12-03 00:39:00	Thanks, Wainui. When I open Skype it says that "Skype cannot detect any webcam" so it sounds as though it needs to go back to have that connection checked. It was dismantled so that may be the problem. I shall ask him to check it out. Thanks for your help.	Roscoe (6288)
1361499	2013-12-03 01:02:00	First of all, many thanks for some helpful posts. I was surprised to read that some posts were against the idea of computers in classrooms filled with 8-year-olds (Year 2 or 3). Did I really read these posts in a forum of computer freaks? Computers are here to stay, we all know this. Why not show our youngsters the proper use of computers as a mean of aid and learning rather than a mean of entertainment? When I was at school we were shown how to use a ruler to do straight lines, drawing equipment for producing appropriate shapes, practiced hours of nice handwriting, and so on and on. Why don't we implement the benefits of computers and teach our kids 1 or 2 hours during a school day? This kind of education would surely benefit many youngsters as learning processes can be setup individually and are able to target different sensory channels.	Cyberhuskey (13067)
1361500	2013-12-03 02:13:00	Just before you do - what you can also check for is right click my Computer ( or computer) Properties, Then device manager, scroll down the list and under imaging devices, if the cam is connected there will either be a error message or ! or X. I have a old Pavilion DV6 ( just 1 of several lappies I own) - I'm on now with windows 8.1 this is what you see in the device manager. 5348	wainuitech (129)
