| 1340909 | 2013-05-12 22:25:00 | OK, then buy it from an Apple Store, or online when over there. I think AT&T also sells unlocked phones but only off contract. It is a world of pain if you buy a locked iPhone and try to get it working on another carrier. There are a few iPhone 5's out there, but the only real difference is LTE bands. They all support Telecom/Vodafone/2Degrees from a 3G POV. | Alex B (15479) | ||

If you do get a locked one, you need to pay out the $300USD early contract termination fee then take it back to the apple store to have it unlocked. It used to be $150USD but too many people were getting the free iphone offer and breaking the contract straight away. iirc it works out marginally cheaper than outright buying the phone (5) and a lot cheaper if you get the 4 or 4s. |
