1362084 2013-12-10 01:13:00 I am looking for My Documents and a few other files I don't see listed. what's the procedure to find these? (I know it will be simple) If you mean the Documents folder as per W7, its exactly the same.

Right click the Desktop ( not the start screen) personalize/ Near top Left of Windows, Change desktop Icons, Select the ones you want then click OK - they will now be on the desktop.

If you want them on the start Screen as well -- once on desktop, right click the Icon - Pin to start. (you can pin almost any folder to the start you like by that method)

Thanks Speedy and wainuitech it was just what I wanted. It is so easy when someone shows you how but hard to figure out for some us without instruction.

1362086 2013-12-10 06:42:00 Lurking, What you can try -- Up top, click on Tools / Folder options / view Tab Under Hidden Files and Folders select "Show Hidden Files, Folders or drives", you can also Untick, Hide protected Operating system Files.

This will show Or should show all files on that drive, maybe something will show whats using all the space. Just be VERY careful as you can delete important files/folders in not careful - this is why they are hidden.

Show hidden files, box is already dotted.

Hide protected Operating system Files, box is already unticked.

Had been in the process of burning all relevant photos etc to dvd, but of course I "fell over" with double pneumonia last November 2012 and in January this year it was a heart attack.

Will get back into the burning and hopefully re-format the WD.

Thanks Wi in the meantime.

Lurking.
