Because of this, the FBI does not have a case. The FBI do not have enough facts of their own that they can get him extradited. His intentions are pretty harmless (secure file hosting), and as far as NZ is concerned he hasn't done anything wrong to hurt the country (that we know of). Yes his service was abused, yes he probably helped users abuse copyright. But as it's been mentioned many other companies do the same. NOT to say that makes it ok for him to do it, he's just a cleaver con man who has support. It's not NZ's issue really. The other countries can battle their asses to gore and back as far as I'm concerned. as long as the NZ people don't end up paying for the damn cost of it My personal stance is, until he personally does something that impacts the people, economy or reputation of NZ he's not our problem. The rest of the world can suck a fat one until they scrounge evidence against him. Not to say we should harbour him as a fugitive. He's just chilling away in his costco mansion. Deal with it. 1340591	2013-05-12 07:20:00	Dotcom is a convicted criminal in Germany. He is a very good conman who still seems to have the media and a fair proportion of NZs population conned. Being anti US and anti NZ government does not change that. KDC was exonerated in Germany by the courts of any wrong doing.	mzee (3324)

We do need to stop acting like hes the peoples savior or some sort of Robin Hood. Was there a massive over-reaction by gung-ho NZ authorities : yes . But that still doesnt make his dealings OK. If you dont actually do the piracy but have a site that is part of the piracy process, then you are just as guilty . Sort of like driving the getaway car to a bank robbery. But as mentioned, youtube is rife with piracy, movies, TV programs, Full Music albums. Cant see anyone gunning after Google with the same vigor, and they have done far worse (if I tried what google has done I'd be arrested)	1101 (13337)
