1362101 2013-12-09 19:41:00 Last week my laptop did an auto win upgrade and now my “Internet Explorer” icon has disappeared. When I go to Programs and click on the IE icon, I see a “flash” – to fast to read anything, but IE does not appear. I tried to download a fresh version but get a message “This is not the correct version “and will not download. Is it possible to get the IE “back” with out loosing all my links etc.?
I use Win Live for my email which is working OK and Chrome works OK as well

1362102 2013-12-09 20:16:00 If it's Windows 7 / 8 go to control panel / programs and features / turn windows features on or off. See if IE is ticked here Speedy Gonzales (78)
1362103 2013-12-09 23:03:00 Hi Speedy – Sorry, should have added “Using Win 7 Home Edition SP 1 “
Checked IE and was not ticked, made the change, re-booted and still no IE.
Tried updating to IE 11 but got the error code “ 9C48 unknown error”

For some time now, even when IE was working OK, when I shutdown I get the following “
The instruction at 0x65002f03 referenced memory at 0x00000006. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the programme”. If I don’t click, the shutdown hangs. If I click, I get the warning about date will be lost etc. Maybe this has nothing to do with the current problem !!!

1362105 2013-12-10 01:08:00 I have tried several of the suggestions in the “post “but still can not get IE to work. Can I re-install Win 7 with out loosing all my apps etc? I can back up all my data as I always have that in a separate folder. Swampy (2426)
1362106 2013-12-10 01:49:00 Uninstall the version thats installed already. Under windows update / view update history / installed updates. Reboot then try again Speedy Gonzales (78)
