1362097 2013-12-09 18:31:00 Hi Guys.
Yesterday for some unknown reason my screens died (I have 2 moiniore son one card) on Windows 7
So while I was trying to get them going I had to turn off my machine and restart - ie could not shut down properly as I could not see anything.

Then when I put in an old screen card my screen worked OK.

But My desktop is full of one random icon repeated all over.
So I have at least 200 of them.
I am deleting them a few at a time, but there are still many of them there.

Any suggestions, as it is such a slow process.

1362098 2013-12-09 19:06:00 Click one, hold down shift, click one on the other side of the screen, everything in between should get highlighted, or drag a box around them, push delete key.

Also pushing the power button normally does a proper shutdown unless you've changed the setting so no need to see what you are doing to achieve that. Holding in the power button should be a last resort if all else fails and you should avoid turning off at the mains as it can corrupt windows.

1362099 2013-12-09 19:10:00 Thanks for that.
I finally got rid of them all, there must have been about 400 of them.

I have noted your comments re the power button.
I did not know that! (after 20 years!)
