| 235045 | 2004-05-07 09:53:00 | I have a friend with a Compaq/HP notebook for which he looking to increase his Ram size, the question is can a 128mb ram stick run at 64mb if faulty. his system properties show this notebook as having 192 mb of ram installed, the PC is only just 1 year old so i find it strange to hear it has a mixture of ram sizes of 128 and 64mb. is this possible, any info, thanks, john. |

| 235046 | 2004-05-07 10:05:00 | most lily he has 256 meg ram installed and 64 meg is assigned to the video card. faulty ram might run at a slower speed but i wouldn't recomend it. |

| 235049 | 2004-05-08 20:17:00 | From recent personal experience. I have two sticks of 512mbs 400 ddr ram. My boot up showed 1024 running in paralell and programs ran as usual. But new programs refused to install. Memcheck reported 1 stick faulty. Replaced ram and all OK again. Note aida32 and Sandra both reported 1024 and no mention of faults. Jack |
