235141 2004-05-08 00:00:00 Actually, most ISP's charge for static IP's. It's a feature wanted by many. If the new IP range wasn't causing issues I guess it wouldn't be a problem ;) Jester (13)
235142 2004-05-08 00:02:00 I don't get it why don't they just change the dam 222 to something else?

I mean they've obviously had to have heard it from SOMEONE by now???

235143 2004-05-08 00:02:00 Ask them to give you a 210.xxx ip. also a temporary solution - go register with another php site for support (if that's what you go there for) such as www.phpbb.com Greg S (201)
235144 2004-05-08 00:04:00 Na i just wanna get to phpbbhacks cause they have loads of mods for phpbb. Best site out there for mods really.

or e-mail me stuartw77 [at] hotmail [dot] com, as I also have a phpbb support forum as well, I would post the link on here, but that would be braking the rules....

235146 2004-05-08 00:09:00 I've emailed Orcon about that site for you - and also asked about whether they will continue with static IPs in the future. Will let you know the response.

I know what you mean, I have for the last few days been talking to a OZ host so I can access their server http://202.76.146.56, & I cant! :(

Hi there

The fact that some destination websites are inaccessible is because they are block Internet traffic from that IP range. Now the new IP range that JetStream customers are on, starts with 222.x.x.x.

To get this problem fixed, the ISP have to report it to that hosting company to allow traffic from that IP range.

Concerning the static IP issue, we are no longer able to sell the service as having a static IP as instructed by Telecom, since it is deemed a residential service and a static IP should not be required. Since a static IP is almost always used for having a server, a residential customer should not have a need for it.

Kind Regards

They don't really say whether they will keep static IP's, just that they can't sell the service now... but I just rebooted my router and was allocated the same Ip addy. BUT If I check my account on the Orcon site I get the following:

[i]DSL

DSL access is currently enabled.
You have Jetstream access configured with a static IP address of
222.XXX.XX.XXX blanked out by me

You are currently online, and your IP address is:
222.XXX.XX.XXX IP blanked out my me
You have attempted to connect 14 time(s) this cycle, and spent 467:35:06 hrs:min:sec online.
