235390 2004-05-10 06:30:00 Some people here have highly recommended Musicmatch Jukebox which may do what you are wanting. Susan B (19)
235391 2004-05-10 06:49:00 A question to Mzee - you say, quote "If you are using XP, disable the built in CD burner, see the services list in control panel."
I, too, have been having problems with Nero and Roxio ( I had both on my PC) and I suspect that the CD burner that comes with Win XP is part of the problem, but I couldn't understand your advice above. Would you please be a bit more specific for a thicko? Regards, KB

235392 2004-05-10 07:10:00 MusicMatch Jukebox certainly will automatically convert MP3's & burn as an audio CD.

My version 4 of Easy CD Creator will also do the same automatically. Open Easy CD Creator, select 'new' select 'audio CD' then choose the mp3 files to burn.

No need to convert to .wav, with both of these. I have not used Nero, but it may be the same.

cheers.

Open up My Computer and Right-Click on your CD-R/W Drive and choose Properties.
You can then flick through the tabs and the option to disable the inbuilt burning is somewhere in there :-)

With version 5 of Easy CD-Creator (Possibly earlier) the started a Basic and an Advanced (Or Pro version.. Whatever), and the Basic version is a lot like the OEM version of Nero Express, its rather limited. In this sense, its limited by its ability to convert MP3's and burn Audio CD's. It cant.

Nero CAN and DOES do the same, but basically he/she cant get it to work because they've copied / pasted the C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero folder from another PC, or they're using an OEM version that doesnt work with that burner (Or a combination of the two).

Chill.

235394 2004-05-10 09:32:00 Yes Chill, you got it. Easy CD-Creator 5 Basic. I now see that when I open, the buttons to create a compilation of music are grayed out. But the ability to write data is nice and black.

Easy on the he/she fella. I'm a bloke. X-(

235395 2004-05-10 09:42:00 Thanks for the clarification Chilling.. Pity about that. One expects a later version should be improved! But as you say the Easy CD Creator V5 has limited the options for auto converting mp3's for burning an audio CD.

Glad I stayed with V4. It certainly does the auto convert mp3 to audio CD.

Well, whats Winston to do? Like I said MusicMatch Jukebox will definately do the auto convert mp3 to audio CD & many other tasks like ripping, & recording. The basic free version does this, but the 'Plus' version burns faster. However it costs.

235396 2004-05-10 23:10:00 dBpowerAMP Music Converter is excellent. All these dBpowerAMP products I use with very good results, the Audio CD Input and the Audio Player programmes.

Well, I can understand Winston001's P.O.V... I had simply forgotten your username, so my apologies. I figured I would cover myself so as not to offend, looks like it came back and bit me in the rear though ;-)
