| 235840 | 2004-05-11 11:37:00 | Is any body able to give me a blow by blow description of how to backup Outlook express file to a CD, delete the original files from the C drive then recover or restore them from the CD. So far I can burn them to my CD but cannot seem to get them back! OS is Win 98SE Many thanks Murdot |

Copy the folder to CD. 2/ search for *.wab This will find your addressbook. Copy the file to CD. To restore, start OE and go File-import-messages and tick OE6 (if that was where you filched the *.dbx files from) , then "import mail from oe6 store directory" and direct it to your saved files. Repeat for addressbook. You could just copy the saved folders over top of the new install, but it is much safer to import them so corruption is unlikely to occur. Have fun, and post back if you need to know more, or need some clarification. |
