| 235844 | 2004-05-11 10:05:00 | I read some posts a while back now about a site that could provide modem drivers for linux. I think it was written up in PC World as well. Maybe somebody in the Linux fraternity will post a link for you. Cheers Billy 8-{) P.S. Did you fix your UHF TV reception problem yet? |

| 235847 | 2004-05-12 23:09:00 | There is obviously something really odd going on with your TV/ antenna installation and I wish I could help Gummy, but I can't get into that sort of work right now. However, I get about a bit while working and will be in your general area next week, so how about posting the name of your street, and some way for me to identify approximately where you are along that street. I don't want your house number or anything definitive like house colour etc because posting that info on a public forum could invite a visit from the crazies, so just enough information to know what your reception conditions might be like will do fine. You could post a range of numbers (like between 20 & 40) or say approximately how far along you are from whatever streets are at each end. I'll do a drive-by and assess what your reception conditions should be like, then I can advise further. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 235848 | 2004-05-12 23:29:00 | re: the ongoing tv saga .... i would just get a tech in. it shouldn't cost anything more than $45 and they can tell you what the signal is like and most likly fix whatever problem it has ($+parts). |

| 235849 | 2004-05-13 04:50:00 | We gave all that advice before tweak'e, this is the third recycle of the problem, but we can't blame Gum Digger for that, I asked the OT question because I was interested in how he was getting on. Maybe a drive-by will reveal something odd about the area, though in the Dominion Rd / Mt Roskill area a piece of wet string (or perhaps an unravelled coathanger) should bring in something on UHF even if it isn't really watchable. The end advice for a working solution remains the same, but I'm just curious. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
